This is a sample answer written to show how the site works. It follows the standard Hanafi books, but no mufti has reviewed or signed it yet, so it is not a fatwa. For a real answer, ask a question. Ask a mufti
1Short answer
Yes. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ is the last of the prophets; no new prophet will come after him. Believing this is part of faith, and accepting anyone as a prophet after him is disbelief.
2Detailed answer
The finality of prophethood (khatm-e-nubuwwat) is one of the essential beliefs of Islam. Allah calls the Prophet ﷺ "the Seal of the Prophets", and the Prophet ﷺ himself said that there will be no prophet after him.
So anyone who claims prophethood after him is a liar, and anyone who accepts such a claim leaves Islam. The return of Sayyiduna Isa (peace be upon him) before the Last Day does not contradict this: he was made a prophet before our Prophet ﷺ and will follow his Shariah.

Meaning: Muhammad is not the father of any of your men, but he is the Messenger of Allah and the Seal of the Prophets.
The verse names him the last of the prophets, and the hadith "there is no prophet after me" confirms it. The Ummah has agreed on this meaning in every age.
